Building in the AI space had been on our minds for a while. Initially, we constrained our thinking on the HR and payroll space, but it became clear that by broadening our scope, we could make far greater impact.
Over the past year, as we developed payroll solutions for Southeast Asia, we adopted AI tools like ChatGPT, Cursor and Perplexity - approaching them with both great optimism and scepticism. We experienced firsthand how AI could be both incredibly powerful and frustratingly unreliable. While these tools had significantly boosted our productivity, we also identified many areas that remain poorly addressed. We saw this as a gap and a huge opportunity.
Automating the previously impossible
Today, there is a new class of problems that can be reliably solved and automated - something that wasn’t possible just two years ago. These problems are either completely unaddressed by existing solutions, or they are inadequately solved.
